"I consider them way more Hardcore inclined than Black Metal. It kind of sounds like the Hardcore influence that they had in their music previously turned into cheesy posi hardcore.

If I had heard this in 2006 perhaps I would dig it, but there is nothing beyond the blatantly catchy riffs and melodies taken from other genres... and do they really have three guitars?Seriously why is high on fire touring with these guys, i mean im not a HOF fan in the first place, they dont capture any essence of stoner metal at all to me.

Ah, Metal Archives: at times an invaluable resource, at others Exhibit A of metal’s infuriatingly elitist gatekeeping culture. ... Kvelertak used to be on but were removed for being more punk/rock than metal, which i'd agree with.

too high gloss, too rock-ish, too modern, too much gang-shouted, too much lead guitar, too TV-styled for my taste for me - sorry no!That video reeks of mass-appeal but that's okay considering that the band has grown into this stadium-rock-ish mainstream outfit. They are a mix of all three. too high gloss, too rock-ish, too modern, too much gang-shouted, too much lead guitar, too TV-styled for my taste for me - sorry no!That video reeks of mass-appeal but that's okay considering that the band has grown into this stadium-rock-ish mainstream outfit.

If they got deleted, you might as well delete Ghost, Baroness, and any other more rock-oriented band. You have to be a real kind of special to break your own neck headbanging.Plus Ghost, for all the more rock qualities of Infestissumam, still have a ton of metal riffs and elements across both albums, but especially the first album.I'm just perpetually annoyed by Sean William Scott and he's never been in a movie where I wasn't rooting for his head to sever by strange means.maybe only their early demos are borderline metal enough to qualify now i think about it. The band released their debut album, entitled Kvelertak, on June 21, 2010 via the Norwegian record label Indie Recordings, and on March 15 via The End Records in North America.

It pains me to see something so utterly bad getting good reception (that applies to their debut as well, haven't heard the recent album). It's just rock music. Not a fan of the band myself, but I like seeing that metal can still be fun and upbeat.too high gloss, too rock-ish, too modern, too much gang-shouted, too much lead guitar, too TV-styled for my taste for me - sorry no! They couldn't sound more generic.don't understand the fascination with the band at all.Metal this, Metal that... rock band or a punk band? Would have been pretty great combined with the fireworks.

Grind, Powerviolence, Crust Punk and Thrashcore.

It wouldn't be hard to imagine this as a Judas Priest song if they got an appropriate singer. To me it was sorta blue oyster cult-ish. their first album was still meh over all the board. In all seriousness, the surprising thing to me was noticing they have three guitarists... What?this thread title kinda misled me - i thought it was going to be about them playing on the roof of an arena while people were waiting in line to see them or something. The metal elements appear just sporadically in their spngs (a few blast beats here, then some shriek there) while the foundations of their songwriting is deeply alligned with Hardcore.I consider them way more Hardcore inclined than Black Metal. A couple mods were in favor of their continued inclusion, but everyone else agreed that they were more rock than metal.

I still wondered at that time why anyone thought they were metal.

I don't get why in every thread of a somewhat popular band, there are always someone complaining about something. Tag: black metal, blackened viking heavy metal, erlend hjelvik, heavy metal, hjelvik, kvelertak, norway, norwegian, nuclear blast, Nuclear blast records, welcome to hel.
