The most critically acclaimed period for the band was from 1983-1989. When they play live, they just put there soul into the music and make everything so like it's so great. Iron Maiden is a little bit overrated, the same with Avenged Sevenfold, but they are even more overrated.
I have problems with some of the others mentioned. x 1/2in. You can be 10 years-of-age and think 'Death Magnetic' is the best metal album you've ever heard, but at 12 you can dig further into Metallica's back catalogue and realise that 'And Justice For All...' is the best. There first album is either tied or a little lower than kill em all. Additionally; I vote Trivium because I like their music. Zacky's rhythm weaves in perfect harmonies with Syn's. I think Mushroomhead is tight but they don't deserve this list and they both copied Kiss or better yet Alice Cooper. Iron Maiden, Dio, Judas Priest, Metallica and other bands remain legends for their successful work.Iron Maiden are one of the most revolutionary and original metal bands in the history of metal! Great lyrics in all their songs and tons of meaning in their lyrics. The real genius behind Black Sabbath is that they fully understood the importance of intensity, and loudness. Not to mention they spread important anti war messages and other sorts of messages like that..Greatest band ever. Is it a joke? They've been through it all, creating masterpieces, even had their downfall. Crushing Bay Area thrash doesn't harm the cause either.This Big 4 issue was a recently concocted pile of BS.
