Many people say that " Guns N' Roses is only AFD " but let's listen to UYI and you will find what rock beauty means. And not to mention all the stuff after that. It was definitely at it's height in the 90's, and yet still continues today.
Number 15 is way too low!Dude... All I have to say is Dookie. I can't really argue with their spot, since this is 90s rock, not just grunge. This bands b-sides are better than a lot of others top singles. I still listen to these CD's a lot. Their ST was good though, but better than the downward spiral, the fragile and broken good? Cantrell, Morello, and Slash were more talented and their tones shine through. I just wish they'd have done more.The hard rock sound of Morello and Commerford along with great rapping skills of De La Rocha complete with the simple yet awesome drumming makes Rage the best 90s band ever and, in my opinion, one of the best ever.Unique sound, very identified so different and always modernThe colour and the shape was their best album ever (other than maybe wasting light). m/m/ I love the fact that everyone is entitled to their own opinion too, which is why I'm stating mine.

Smashing Pumpkins may live in the same niche, but STP just did it better, more raw, and with less pretension.STP were outstanding. 90s metal: the 100 best songs. The first album was not great but Dave was the only one doing anything, so that's 1/4 of the creativity. Pearl Jam always has stayed true to their music and fans. Not only is Nirvana the best band of the 90's, they are the most important band of the past 30 years. Slash has unprecedented tone during those sessions. The music this band put out was great, and withstands the test of time. I love Nirvana as much as the next guy, but this is getting to be ridiculous. Staley, Cobain, and Cornell were all better. Their range sets them apart from their 1990s peers. The songwriting is just a touch behind the likes of other bands.
Like the biggest band by the end of the 90's. In the late 1960s a number of bands began pushing the limits of blues rock into a new genre which would be called heavy metal.. That release perfectly showcased their talent in a concise format, but I think all their LPs suffered from too much below-average material. Chris Cornell has no peer in 90s rock. m/m/Easily number 1. The music this band put out was great, and withstands the test of time. Oh... And lets not forget Temple of the Dog and "Hunger Strike". They rock.
But the tunes they did record are stunning and shook the world. No even comes close. understanding that there music can be a bit dark and I generally like music that isn't coming from depression this band is absolutely the best band since the 70s (except possible Guns N Roses although I personally prefer the pumpkins but I can see how that argument could be made). Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament are as good as it gets! Far out!Hands down the most diverse rock band in history, if you disagree, you just aren't listening. I would argue that Trent Reznor's contributions to music are as important as Nirvana's.
